Mercedes is the most popular car brand in Albania, by quite a margin. The specific style of sedan pictured here is particularly common.
A slightly rusted black truck bed can be seen on the main island of Tutuila.
This is the most common car that will be seen as it has the most coverage.
The front of a silver-grey truck with side mirrors can be seen on Manu’a and Olosega, which are connected by a bridge.

The front of a similar truck can be seen on the easternmost covered island of Tau. However, the truck will be glossy black, with side mirrors visible.
These Argentinian cities have unique and recognisable taxis.

The “sawdust” car is found in centre-south Argentina and has a unique sandy dust on its visible black back.

In Generation 3 coverage, these three cars can be seen in Bangladesh: the red mirror with bars, classic white and striped white car.
NOTE: The classic white car is the only car that is not unique to Bangladesh. Make sure to not mix up the striped white with the Cambodian car, since they look similar.
Coverage with a red car and a long antenna can rarely be seen in Belgium.
NOTE: This is much more common in Ukraine.
A hook can be seen on the back of the car in Haa District, mainly in the town of Ha.
NOTE: The hook is sometimes just barely visible due to the car blur.
In all Generation 4 coverage in Amapá, the front right of the camera is smudged. In addition, all Generation 4 coverage in Amapá features the white car with the blue stripe.
A grey Toyota Hilux, with various gear loaded and a snorkel on the front right, can be seen from around Baños Morales to this point, where the trekker continues the journey on foot.
Puerto Williams, the southernmost town covered by street view, can be recognized by this white pickup truck with visible side mirrors.
NOTE: The Puerto Williams coverage is located fairly far away from the normal car coverage in Chile. The nearest normal car coverage is in Fuerte Bulnes, near Punta Arenas.
Christmas Island has two types of coverage: car coverage and a couple of trekkers.
The car coverage was done with a unique Google car: a silver pickup truck, with the bed of the truck visible. Usually, this is all you need to identify Christmas Island.
The island of Providencia, located roughly 90 kilometres North of San Andrés, is home to this unique grey truck.
Red taxis are the standard in Costa Rica.
NOTE: Panama uses yellow taxis.
You can spot Rainbolt himself, or the filming crew atop a black Toyota around the town of La Fortuna, Alajuela Province.
A black generation 4 car that will never have an antenna can be found in Croatia.

This black car with a roof rack is unique to Curaçao.
All Generation 4 coverage was captured using a white pickup truck with a black trunk and no antenna.
NOTE: The pickup truck in Panama and Costa Rica has an antenna on the front.
French car brands Peugeot, Renault and Citroën together make up almost half of all cars in France.
NOTE: These car brands are also common in linguistically related neighbouring countries.
Taxis in Ghana typically have multicoloured body panels. The fenders and quarter panels are always coloured orange-yellow.
Several nature reserves and sanctuaries have this unique car. A white car and side mirrors will be visible instead of the regular car, however, the ‘Ghana tape’ will still be there.
Yellow taxis are found in Athens.
Blue taxis with a white roof are found in Thessaloniki.
Qaqortoq can be recognized by the red rectangular car. The coverage is extremely sunny and the area is greener and less barren than most of the country.
Uummannaq has two distinctive features: a sharp mountain to the north and a green snowmobile with large black side mirrors. Neither of the two can be seen on all coverage but at least one can be seen on most.
Qeqertarsuaq is most easily recognized by the blue ATV with wide side mirrors. The coverage is fairly overcast and with a lot of yellow grass along the roads.
Paamiut can typically be recognized by the round, grey car which is often only barely visible. The coverage has a lot of thin clouds, but is still quite bright and the foliage consists of a mixture of yellow and green grass, and reddish moss.
The road east of Kangerlussuaq is easily recognized by the large white truck.
The coverage on Kulusuk island has a round, red ATV, with a pyramid shaped mountain often seen to the northeast. The footage was taken right after sunset on a clear day, making it fairly dark.
A red and black ATV can be found in and around the village of Kapisillit, northeast of Nuuk. Many mountains in the distance are covered in a layer of snow.
Hong Kong taxis come in two variants: sedans or station wagons, with the sedans most commonly seen. They can be easily identified by their silver roofs, green stickers on the front and rear bumper, and the taxi sign on the roof.
Red taxis are most common on Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, green taxis in the New Territories in the northern region and blue taxis on Lantau Island and Chek Lap Kok. Keep in mind, Hong Kong is a small city and taxis travel all around it.
The Generation 3 Google car in Iceland is a white car with a long antenna.
Iceland can be split in half depending on the colour of the pickup truck, with red being found in the southwest, and white being found in the northeast.
Yellow tuk tuks with black roofs are common in the southern Indian states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.
NOTE: They can also rarely be found elsewhere.
Large visible, square shaped cars can be found in the areas shown on the map.
NOTE: A somewhat similar car with a visible hood on the car can be found in Odisha.
Black Taxis with yellow roofs are found in Meghalaya and Mumbai.
Taxis in Sikkim often have a painted yellow hood or a small yellow circle on it.
A white SUV with black bars and a wooden plank on the roof can rarely be seen in eastern Bali.
A black cab with men sitting in the truck bed can be seen near Jagasatru on Bali.
A significant portion of the coverage in the West Bank has a visible security follow car. The most extensive of these is a small white Suzuki, which is found in the central and southern regions.
Another follow car is a small dark blue Ford, which is found in the northwest.
This larger white Citroën follow car with a West Bank licence plate can be found in a region surrounding Jerusalem. It is noticeably found in the cities of Bethlehem and Ramallah.
NOTE: The side of this car features the text “SECURITY” in a bold font. Furthermore, this coverage will always feature a black Street View car with no antenna.
This grey Hyundai follow car is unique to Rahat.
In Aqaba, taxis are olive green on the top and black at the bottom.
In Madaba, taxis are yellow with white bumpers.
On a lot of the coverage you will see a grey Toyota SUV following the Street View car.
These repurposed vans can be found all over Kenya.
NOTE: While these vans can also be found in Uganda, the design of the vehicle wrap is clearly different.
The A109 between Mombasa and Nairobi has light orange dirt and many hills around the road and in the distance. You will additionally see many transportation trucks delivering various goods.
Most of the coverage between Mombasa and Emali also has a unique car, which has a cord on the left.
Aberdare National Park has a grey and brown car that features a large snorkel. Almost all of the coverage is outside of the National Park, with only two roads within the park covered. The main road through the park has these rubber bands on the roof rack, which can only be found in one other National Park in Kenya.
Kyrgyzstan can be recognised from the silver car and four bars that are visible. All coverage is Generation 3.
NOTE: No other country with a similar landscape has a similar Street View car.
Taxis on Madeira are yellow with a blue stripe running along the sides of the car.
Google used a weird, low-quality camera on Madeira, commonly known as the official Ari (or "shitcam"). It has a wide circular car blur and makes the image appear rather gloomy. On Madeira, you will often see the unblurred back of a white car.
A good map will usually not include this coverage, but it is good to be aware of its existence, in order not to be caught off-guard.
This unique grey car with a long front antenna can be found in Gunung Mulu National Park, Sarawak.
United States car brands are popular in Mexico. In particular, you will see a lot of pickup trucks.
This white truck with visible rearview mirrors can be seen in the Cofre de Perote national park.
Generation 4 coverage in western Mongolia uses a silver pick-up truck with a big light blue tent. Different variations of the tent can be useful for narrowing down the region.
The Google Car can be seen chasing this police car on the P15, between Lovcen National Park and Čevo.
An orange car with a blue ribbon on the front is found around Biratnagar.

A car with a black spoiler is found just around Janakpur, southeast of Kathmandu.
A regular grey car can be found around Kathmandu, and to the southeast, around Lahan.
A blocky grey truck can be found east of Birgunj and just south of Kathmandu.
A grey car with a visible backlight can be found in the following areas:
Around Pokhara, under the Nepal label
Around Kathmandu
North of Malangawa, near the Indian border southeast of Kathmandu
East of Itahari, in the east.
A red car, that usually has a long antenna, can be found in Kathmandu, and north of Janakpur, which is southeast of Kathmandu.
This car with a white and blue front is mostly found on the North Island. It can occasionally be found In Canterbury and Marlborough, on the South Island.
State Highway 73, located near Arthur’s Pass, can be recognised by the almost dried out river with an abundance of gravel on the river bed. Additionally, the Street View car in Arthur’s Pass drove behind a black pickup truck with two ladders on its roof.
A police car, most commonly white or black, can almost always be seen following the Street View car. The follow cars may differ slightly from the ones shown in the image.
This map shows where each old Generation 3 follow car can be found. They are uncommon, but can still be useful to know.
NOTE: The A121 is not shown on the map as it is recognizable from other clues. This silver Lexus, not shown on the map, can rarely be seen on the highway between Onitsha and Enugu.
A green truck is visible behind the Google Car for a portion of the E-65. The truck is visible from Kichevo to Arbinovo.
Oman uses white taxis, which have orange-coloured panels on each side.
You may find this grey car, with a visible right side, driving around Lahore Fort in the north of Lahore.
NOTE: This is considered hidden coverage, as it can not be accessed normally on Google Maps. It can however be accessed in the Map Making App and is still included in some community-made maps.
The Google car will usually be blurred, with only the antenna on the left and a sliver of the car visible. Sometimes the entire white pickup truck can be visible. Rusty clips can be seen on the crossbar.

Dacia is the most common car brand in Romania, making up more than a quarter of all vehicles in the country.
NOTE: No other eastern European country has more than 10% Dacias.
Japanese-made cars with the steering wheel on the right become more common the further east you go, generally starting around Novosibirsk.
The black pickup truck can be found in most of Kigali.
The car used on Príncipe can be recognised by the blue roof and silver roof rails.
NOTE: Remember that it can sometimes be blurred out.
The car used on São Tomé is black with black roof rails. In most locations, it is blurred out.
A silver or white truck cab is visible in the Generation 4 coverage. Several variants of each exist, most of which are region or road specific. The most useful and recognizable ones will be shown in the spotlight section. For a complete overview, see this document by Lupus.
In the area around Dakar and Thies you can also find a black pick up truck.
NOTE: The car may sometimes be fully blurred. Make sure to look at the landscape or other clues in the absence of car meta.
Yellow-orange taxis with black fenders can commonly be seen in Senegal.
The regular Generation 4 white car is most commonly found south of The Gambia, but can also be found on the northeastern coast and a small region between Kaolack and Saly.
Almost all road coverage in South Korea is made with a Generation 3 camera.
In most, but not all, of the coverage, the back of the Google car is visible. You can see three colours: black, white and silver. The car never has an antenna.
In Asturias you can find a black car with no antenna and a visible brake light.
NOTE: This car can very rarely spill into neighbour regions like Galicia.
Taxis in Barcelona are black with yellow doors, including the trunk door.
This style of tuktuk is common in Sri Lanka: it has a bulky shape and a black roof. They are usually coloured green, yellow or red, though other colours appear as well.
The most common car brand in Sweden is Volvo, which makes up almost 30% of all passenger cars.
NOTE: Approximately 10% of all passenger cars in both Norway and Finland are Volvo.
A blue pickup truck can be seen in a few of the riverside parks in Taipei City.
This light green Toyota follow car can be found everywhere in the northernmost part of Tunisia. You will never see it south of Hammamet.
The dark green Mazda is the most common follow car in Tunisia. This becomes apparent if you look at the coverage map, it can be found all the way from Hammamet to Djerba. Aside from the darker colour, it can also be recognized by its military licence plate with a red strip on the left.
Tunis, the capital of Tunisia, has a lot of different follow cars. Most of them can be found all over the city. The light green Toyota can also be spotted here.
The city of Kairouan in central-northern Tunisia has this unique follow car, a white Mitsubishi with white mirrors. The dark green follow car can also sometimes be spotted following the Mitsubishi.
NOTE: Some white follow cars in Tunisia can look similar to the Kairouan car. However, none of them are Mitsubishis.
The island of Djerba is the only region of Tunisia where you are usually not accompanied by a follow car. Most coverage completely lacks one.
While it is rare, this white Mercedes and the dark green follow car can be present.
On one side of the road going to Chernobyl, a yellow flag with an Opel logo can be seen on the Google car’s antenna.
North American semi-trucks have a longer nose, since the engine is in front of the driver’s cab. In contrast, European and Asian semi-trucks are cabovers, meaning the driver sits on top of the engine, giving the truck an L shape.
NOTE: This is only useful to differentiate between North America and Europe, as these trucks are found throughout all of the Americas. Australian and New Zealand trucks are typically a mix of the two.
As part of a promotional campaign, the TransAmerica Trail from Oregon to North Carolina was covered by a Ford Bronco. The car can recognised by its unblurred black roof and red hood, and is mostly found on unpaved rural roads.
Looking backwards, you will see two other Ford SUVs escorting the camera car.
The United States Virgin Islands features 3 unique Google cars. The first of which is shown here. This red truck with a red cab can only be seen in the southern island of St Croix. This is the most common car that will be seen as St Croix has the most coverage.
A white car without an antenna can also be seen on St Croix, however it will be less common than the red car.
